Arizona Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials

The Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center has formed Arizona Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials (AzNETT), a network of hospitals across Arizona, to participate in the NIH Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials (NETT) Network.

AzNETT, one of 11 Regional Hubs, will participate in large, simple trials conducted by the NETT to reduce the burden of very acute injuries and illnesses affecting the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system. The study of very rapid interventions will be implemented by paramedics in the field or by physicians in the Emergency Department. This network provides the basis for conducting efficient studies in these environments.

The hospitals included in AzNETT are:

  • University Medical Center, Tucson
  • University Physicians Hospital at Kino, Tucson
  • Southeast Arizona Medical Center, Douglas
  • Maryvale Hospital, Phoenix
  • John C. Lincoln North Mountain Hospital, Phoenix
  • Holy Cross Carondelet Hospital, Nogales
  • Copper Queen Community Hospital, Bisbee
  • Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, Glendale
  • Banner Health Center-Payson, Payson
  • Banner Good Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix
  • Barrow Neurological Institute of St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix
  • Arrowhead Community Hospital, Glendale
